Travel Laundry Hacks

Spread the love

Traveling is a fun way to unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, it can sometimes be a hassle, especially when taking long trips. One of the main challenges of long travels is dealing with your clothes, especially when you are running out of clean ones to wear. To deal with such, here are some tips and hacks for you to break free from stressing out about laundry.

Choosing the Right Clothes

One of the most important things to remember before taking a trip is to know what type of clothes to bring. If you plan to go to tropical places where the weather is humid, it is best to get summer wear. Doing such can help you avoid sweating, which can cause foul odors on your clothes.

Learn to do Handwashing

Handwashing was the most primitive way of cleaning clothes before washing machines existed. Learning how to hand wash clothes is an easy way to do laundry when traveling. You don’t have to spend much on laundry detergents, as you can already clean what you wore and don’t have to worry about the need to pile clothes. Also, you can hand wash your clothes almost anywhere if you have a water source, such as in the kitchen sink or the hotel bathroom.

Laundry Bags

Bringing your laundry bag can help ease the burden of finding ways to do your laundry. If there is no place or time to do laundry, these bags will help you keep your dirty clothes away. Having your own laundry bag also saves you from buying one during the trip. If you don’t have laundry bags, plastic bags will do. They can still serve the purpose of keeping your dirty clothes.

Bringing Small Amounts of Laundry Products

If you want to do the laundry when traveling, it is best to bring your own laundry products. Before traveling, it is great to pack at least small amounts of laundry detergent, fabric softeners and stain removers. These will serve as on-the-go necessities in the laundry. Bringing 50ml of each will do.

Eucalyptus Oil

As weird as it sounds, eucalyptus oil is an excellent hack for doing laundry if you are traveling. Eucalyptus oil serves as a natural stain remover. If your shirt is stained, grab half a teaspoon of eucalyptus oil added to a water basin and a white bar of soap. Also, it doesn’t just serve as a stain remover. This laundry hack makes your clothes smell fresh.

Scout Ahead

If you do not seem to have the energy to do all mentioned above, scouting for a laundry service would be great for you. Before going to your destination, looking for laundry service companies that would help you deal with your laundry while you are there is excellent. You can also inquire about where you are staying and if they offer such services. Also, it is best to choose those laundry companies that also provide a laundry delivery service to have more time to have fun.
