The Project Management Professional PMP certification is a globally recognized certification that demonstrates a professional’s skills and knowledge in the field of project management. The PMP credential is an entry point into the project management profession and provides project managers with the knowledge and skills required to manage all aspects of projects from start to finish.

The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is one of the most popular for entering into the project management profession. The PMP course is offered by two organizations: The Project Management Institute (PMI) and The Association for Project Management (APM). Both organizations offer similar exams but there are some differences between them. For example:

PMI-ACP certification

The PMI-ACP certification is a higher level of certification that requires more time, knowledge, and experience. It covers all aspects of project management and includes project risk management, change management, portfolio management, and organizational leadership.

The PMI-ACP certification is important because it shows your ability to manage projects effectively. It helps you gain credibility among your clients and employers. You can use this credential when applying for a job in a position where you will be managing many projects at once.

If you want to take your career ahead and want to have hands-on knowledge and experience in agile methodologies, PMI-ACP is a good choice for you. But there are some prerequisites for this exam and you have to fulfil them. I am going to list them below.

You should have a secondary degree.

Twenty-one hours of agile training

12 months of experience within the last five years of duration or eight months of experience in agile projects within the last three years. If you satisfy these prerequisites, you are able to sit for the PMI ACP certification exam.

There is a $305 exam fee for members and $347 for non-members to sit for the exam. The exam will cover 120 multiple-choice questions, and you just have three hours to complete this exam.

How to acquire PMI-ACP certification

To become a PMI-ACP certified project manager, you must complete an application form, meet eligibility requirements, and pass an examination. You will also need to pay a fee for the exam and relevant educational background. Once you have completed all these steps successfully, you can apply for your PMI-ACP certification through your local chapter or state office of PMI.

There is no doubt that project management certification is valuable. Having a certificate proves your professional competence and gives you an edge over non-certified candidates. PMI offerings are popular and well-respected, and an even more attractive option is to have both certifications at the same time – PMP and PMI ACP. This article can hopefully help you achieve that goal.
